The Monkey Cage

The following poem was taken from the lyrics to one of the songs I have written. If you would like a copy of the music score and my voice recording of any of my songs I refer to on my blog, please call or text me at 321-239-1591. I will be happy to send it to you by email. I love to share the songs I have written, inspired by God’s precious Word.

When I look into the monkey cage,
At the county zoo,
I do not see the ancestry,
That looks like me and you.
First God created the animals,
In the sky, the sea, and land,
Then He created the man and wife,
And we look just like them.

Noah saw the animals,
Coming two by two.
It’s a mighty big menagerie,
What ever will we do?
God said “Noah, trust me Son,
I have a master plan.
I’ll make the animals all behave,
And follow your command.”

God created all the birds that fly,
In the sky above.
And all the fishes in the sea,
Like Nemo that we love.
He gave us the real tame animals,
And wild creatures, too.
And now we can see some of each,
When we visit the zoo.

So, when you look in the monkey cage,
At the local zoo,
Remember who created them,
And He knows who is who.
He gave us all the animals,
So, we could have our pets.
But I see when I look in your eyes,
God’s best creation yet!
